This classic and stylish restaurant is among Chicago’s best. Chef-owner Gabino Sotelino is a culinary whiz who knows how to work magic in the kitchen. The elegant Art Nouveau dining room, with its dark woods and soft edges, evokes memories of great rooms past, but the cooking is planted with both feet in the present. Dégustation menus are abound (including vegetarian and shellfish), so there is ample opportunity to taste and taste some more. Desserts are a treasure trove of delicious delights. Also, the service is as professional as you will find.- March 2005
